Maine’s Environment & Natural Resources is Key to our Way of Life

Maine’s environment and natural resources are key to our economy and define our way of life.

Maine contains an estimated 17.6 million acres of forest land covering approximately 89% percent of our State. Maine’s working forest has supported our economy and our way of life for generations.

Paul LePage will always stand up for Maine’s lumber industry and ensure we have a working forest that will help future generations prosper.

  • It is imperative that our policy-makers support a sustainable forestry industry by reducing the cost of energy and promoting a workforce that can sustain and grow this industry into the future.

A Vision for Maine

My vision for Maine is to create prosperity through a lower overall tax burden for residents and businesses; a smaller, more efficient state government that we can all afford; protecting our most vulnerable populations (our children, our seniors and persons with disabilities), empowering parents’ rights to decide their children’s future, and managing a welfare system that serves as a safety net for the truly needy – not a free for all.
