New Donors Rush to Fuel LePage Campaign

85% of LePage 2022 donors have never donated in the past

AUGUSTA, ME – Governor Paul LePage’s campaign continues to grow as new donors from across Maine join Paul’s team.

To date, the LePage 2022 campaign has received more than 11,500 donations with nearly 30% of the donations under $200. In just the latest finance period over 2,000 new donors came on board. 85% of LePage 2022 donors have never donated in the past, representing new supporters for Paul LePage.

“Ann and I are heartened by the support we are receiving across Maine,” said Governor LePage. “We must deal with crushing inflation and Janet Mills extreme policies in order to move Maine forward. I look forward to tackling those challenges as Maine’s next Governor.”

The LePage campaign will report to Maine Ethics that it has more than $855,000 cash-on-hand, representing 38% more cash-on-hand than the campaign had at the same point in LePage’s last race.

Paul LePage has now received donation from individuals in more than 440 Maine towns.

In 2014 LePage was outspent by both of his major competitors. Combined LePage’s major competitors in 2014 outspent him by over $4 Million ($6 million compared to less than $2 million) as he went on to victory. In outside 2014 expenditures, LePage had over $3.5 million spent against him compared to less than $1.5 million spent against his opponents. With all spending in 2014, both candidate and outside groups, the pro-LePage efforts were outspent by anti-LePage efforts by approximately $7.5 million ($5.5 million pro-LePage to over $13.2 million anti-LePage). In 2014, LePage received the largest number of votes in Maine history at that time.
